Stylianos M. Potirakis

Stelios M. Potirakis was born in Athens, Hellas, in 1971. He holds a B.Sc. degree in Physics with First Class Honors (1993), an M.Sc. degree in Electronics and Communications (1995), and a Ph.D. in Physics (2002), all from University of Athens. He has worked for two years as a Test Engineer at the Hellenic version of the “Audio” Magazine (1997-1999) and for nine years as an R&D Engineer (two years) and R&D Engineering Team Leader (seven years) at the “Analog Electronics and Electroacoustics Team” of Intracom Defense Electronics s.a. (2000-2009). He has been a faculty member of the Department of Electronics of the Technological Education Institute of Piraeus since 2009 (where he is currently an Associate Professor). Dr. Potirakis is a member of AES and HELINA (affiliated with EAA). His research interests include analog electronics, analog circuit analysis, systems’ modeling, fuzzy logic, signal analysis, electroacoustics, applied acoustics, acoustic ecology, acoustic noise control, acquisition and analysis of pre-seismic signals, electronic measurements, special measurement instrument's development, characterization of smart/ multi-function materials, and educational technologies.
